Cuddle Pillow Toy - Kitty #3

This is the third kitty cuddle pillow toy I have made, the previous two being a blue/grey kitty and a purple kitty. This pale pink kitty has the same pink accent fabric for its nose and ears as my first two kitties, with its nose being blanket stitched on with white thread. As with my first two kitties I also used the same pink coloured safety eyes and black embroidered backstitching for its mouth and whiskers.

The finished size of this pale pink kitty cuddle pillow is about 9.5 inches tall not including the ears, about 8.5 inches wide not including the paws, with a tail just under 12 inches long. Making this kitty pillow toy an ideal size for little heads to rest on for a midday nap, or a comfortable size to cuddle up to for soft hugs. This pattern for this kitty was found HERE in the Shiny Happy World shop.

Topsy Turvy Doll mini - Doll & Sailor Chibi Moon

This doll was gifted before I remembered to take a picture with both heads showing. Although in general you would only see the one head/doll at a time, I did liked to have a picture showing the both so you got a better look at this topsy turvy dolls full features together. Since this was not possible I instead edited the picture above to give you an idea of how these dolls look together.

This mini flip doll was made for my another sister using the same pattern as my other topsy turvy dolls, only here using the traditional happy/sad faces like I have with the other mini dolls. For both faces I embroidered black for the eyebrows, black and white for the eyes, and a pale tan colour for the nose. For the sad doll above I used a light pink for the lips and for the happy lips below red embroidery was used.

The hands of each doll were also embroidered to give definition to the fingers and then I attached the hair for each doll. The hair for each doll was stitched down in two layers, the first layer covered the dolls scalp so that once the second layer was stitched on there would be no bald spots seen through this second layer. The second layer of hair was for the dolls hair style, down for the first doll and pigtails for the second.

The dresses for this flip doll were made from a dress, a shirt and a thin jumper. The dress was the colourful print seen on the doll above, the shirt was a white shirt remade into a shirt for the doll below, and the light pink jumper became a skirt to go with the white shirt. As I have mentioned previously, I like to re-purpose old fabric material as opposed to buying new fabrics.

The blonde haired doll in this pair is loosely based on my sister, with her light blond hair, big eyes and sad face, only without the sad face as she is never without a smile. The pink haired doll is based on the character of Sailor Chibi Moon, a sailor scout from the future who represents the month of my sisters birthday. Admittedly Sailor Chibi Moon is not one of my favourite characters, but this doll wasn't made for me, and besides with her pink colour scheme she is one of my favourite dolls.

With a full height of about 8.5 inches from head to head and about 9.5 inches from head to hem, this doll was made not so much for playing but more as a decorative piece for display. Along with all my sewn projects, this topsy turvy doll was completely hand sewn, the dresses, hair, everything. So it does take some time to complete one of these dolls but it is well worth the effort seeing the end result.

Harry Potter Wand Bookmarks set2 - People of Power

This is the second set of Harry Potter wizarding wand bookmarks I made for the characters of Albus Dumbledore, Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange. These bookmarks are a colourful interpretation of these well known characters' wands so they do not look realistic in all browns but are instead a fun range of colours to represent each wand. For the Dumbledore and Bellatrix wands I used purple beads but if you wanted, grey could be used instead. Each wand bookmark is 20 cm long and between 1.5 to 3.5 cm wide.

If anyone is interested I have provided the pattern for each bookmark below so you can make them yourself. Feel free to change the colours or shapes as you see fit. Each pattern is also a desktop wallpaper, similar to my Harry Potter Wand Wallpaper Collection seen HERE. These wallpapers are sized 1366x768 so you can either "Save Image As" to save to your computer or alternatively you can select "Set As Desktop Background".

Sailboat with bonus Sea Star #3

This new sailboat was made in the exact same way as my first two, seen here and here, with only the colours of the sails and sea star being altered. Originally made as more of a decorative piece, I happen to know that these boats and their little sea star or starfish have enjoyed some playtime, and have thankfully not been marred much by the experience.

To create these boats I used two skewers to form the mast and boom. A sturdy white and orange material, doubled, and sewn to the skewers was used to make the sails and the small flag. Lastly a thick grey/brown material was used to make the body of the boat, which was then stuffed until it could support itself to stand upright. The sea star's top side was made with the same patterned material as the previous two, only this one has an orange backing to match this boat.

At its full height these boats measure about 12 inches or so, and with the accompanying sea star make a sweet little gift set. It wasn't easy first putting these boats together, the pattern was a free one found with a google search and had no instructions. I had to figure out how I was going to attach the sails to the boat and eventually decided to use skewers, which I think worked out very well. Overall is has been a fun project to put together and I'm quite pleased with the results.

My Beanie Bunny

This bouncy bunny has decided to make it's new home amongst my many other critters, both magical and non-magical, and I couldn't be happier. With his sweet little face and fluffy little tail, it has been a lot of fun to have this adorable little fella around.

If you think bunny has a familiar look, then you would be right. I created this bunny from the same pattern I designed when I made My Beanie Mouse, with a few minor alterations of cause. To create this bunny I designed new big, floppy ears and replaced the mouse tail with a little pom-pom.

The body shape and teeny feet on this bunny are identical to my previous mouse I made with only the colours and fabrics being different. I really liked the face I designed for my mouse so I used the same here on this bunny, this involved using black safety eyes and a few stitches for his nose.

Once fully hand-stitched this bunny was filled with plastic pellets, making him as floppy as his big ears and very bouncy. These little beanie animals of mine are so cute and a lot of fun to play with. They also make very sweet looking paperweights if nothing else. It is so pleasing to design and create a little critter from scratch and see it come to life.
