Dress Pillows #4
It's been a while since my last dress pillow. If your not familiar with my other dress pillows these are mostly dresses that my nieces wore as babies or very young toddlers that I turned into keepsake pillows. These pieces of clothing were too nice or sentimental to cut up or give away so I came up with the idea to preserve these as pillow. They make for a lovely addition to my nieces bedrooms and are a precious memory my sisters can share with their daughters.
This dress pillow is not really a dress at all but is technically a sweet little top that was a favourite of my nieces. She wore it constantly until she out grew it, so it was a perfect choice to turn into a keepsake pillow. To do this I simply sewed the bottom of the top closed while inside out to give a smooth finish. I then turned it right side out to sew the cap sleeves giving the ends a little frill effect. Then lastly I sewed along the neckline stuffing the top firmly before finishing the closure. I do love that these pillows are both sweet and full of memories.
